KLS Breeding Program

Breeding  quality Silkie chickens requires time, money, hard work and passion.  We hope to learn as much as we can to improve our stock.  We focus on bearded black, gray, and white Silkie chickens for showing.   We find the best possible homes for the birds that we cannot keep.

CHICKS AND INCUBATING EGGS FOR SALE

Important information Read Carefully

General Information:
  • Animals are shipped once payment is made in full.  This includes the cost of animals plus shipping fees and packaging fees if applicable.
  • We do our best to sell healthy animals.  Once the animal leaves our farm we are no longer responsible and cannot be held liable as the buyer will assume all risk.
  • Why do we set our pricing the way we do?  We spend countless hours each week, cleaning cages, cleaning and filling water bottles, and feeding the birds in our flock.  We spend time interacting with them, bathe them, and provide them with indoor and outdoor time in the sun.  In addition, we spend thousands on high quality feed, supplements, medicine and equipment to make sure they are receiving quality care.  Finally, we have invested in purchasing high quality stock in the form of adult show quality birds and hatching eggs from reputable breeders.   So, when you get a Keuka Lake Silkie hatching egg or chick you are getting  not only an amazing, healthy pet, but also an excellent representation of the breed.
Chicks:
  • If you would like to purchase chicks, they are sold as a straight run and you may get a mixture of boys and girls.  We cannot replace roosters with hens in the future.
  • According to NYS Agricultural law, I must sell six chicks.
  • Once the Silkies are at least 2 months of age you can purchase any number.  For example you could purchase 2 of them instead of six.
  • I cannot sell just hens or pullets.  If you would like to purchase Silkies I can sell a specific number but not a specific gender.  Thank you for understanding.
